WSU Frequently Asked Questions

Who can attend this event?

All undergraduate, domestic students, seeking a first degree in a certified program, who have been accepted to the WSU Pullman campus for the Spring, Summer, or Fall 2020 semesters may attend Experience WSU. Students who are former WSU students returning, students seeking a second bachelors degree, students on an employee tuition waiver, students who are not full-time enrolled, students admitted to graduate school, or students who are currently enrolled at a WSU campus (Pullman, Vancouver, Tri-Cities, Global, Everett, or Spokane) who may submit a change of campus form are NOT eligible to attend this event. The event is designed for those who are still in the process of making their decision regarding enrollment at the Pullman campus. If you have already decided to attend WSU, your next steps are to pay your deposit and sign up for an Alive! orientation session.

Who may accompany me to Experience WSU?

Students are able to bring two guests with them to Experience WSU. That may include, parents, grandparents, or siblings. Because space is limited at these events we do ask that students do not bring more than two guests.

How do I make travel and lodging arrangements?

We encourage you to make lodging arrangements as soon as possible as hotel accommodations are limited. You can refer to our travel page for more information.

Is there any charge for attending?

Attendance at Experience WSU is free for each registered student and their guests.

Can I attend more than one admitted student event?

No, students may only attend one admitted student event (Experience, Out of State Experience, Future Cougars of Distinction or Future Cougars Embracing Diversity). We do this so we can maximize the number of students who can participate.

If I am registered but am unable to attend can I have a friend take my place?

Unfortunately, no. All of our Experience WSU programs have waiting lists, so should you be unable to attend, we will cancel your registration and add the next student off of the waiting list.

What should I wear?

Dress is casual. Please wear comfortable shoes for your visit to our campus, as you can expect to do a lot of walking. Spring weather in the Pullman area can be chilly; rain or snow is a possibility. Consider dressing in layers and packing an umbrella for your trip.

Should I attend if I’m a transfer student?

Transfer students are welcome to attend any of the Experience WSU events if they are undecided about attending WSU. However, if you have already confirmed your enrollment at WSU, we recommend that you attend Transfer Alive! in March for orientation and registration.

Whom do I contact for special assistance?

If you are a person with disabilities requiring assistance, please contact Visitation Programs at 509-335-4980 two weeks prior to the event you will be attending to make arrangements.

Can I walk-on to this event without being registered?

Walk-on students are not permitted at this event. If you are not registered for the program, you will be turned away at the door. Please understand that there are students who are on the wait list for this event, and if we allowed walk-on registrants, then we would be doing a disservice to those who followed the standby list procedure. Please note that you must also be registered for the correct Experience WSU date. As an example, we cannot accept students who are registered for a different Experience WSU event date.

What if I can’t attend?

If you cannot attend any of the Experience WSU events, we encourage you to come to campus for an individual visit on a day that fits your schedule.
