WSU Regents Scholars Program
Who is eligible for scholarships
Washington high schools, Native American tribes, and student nominees must all meet specific criteria to be eligible to participate in the program.
Student eligibility
To be eligible for nomination and consideration for a Regents Scholarship, students must:
- Be a Washington state resident or be nominated by a participating Native American tribe.
- Be a high school senior.
- Demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and community, civic, and co-curricular involvement. See the Regents Scholars eligibility calculator to find out if you meet the academic threshold. A score from either the SAT or ACT is required.
- Complete the WSU admission and scholarship applications (including submitting high school transcript and SAT/ACT test score) by the Regents Scholars Program deadline.
- Enter the WSU Pullman campus as a freshman in the fall semester after high school graduation.
Schools and tribes that are eligible to nominate
Each eligible school and tribe is invited to nominate two high school seniors for Regents Scholar awards.
School eligibility
All public schools on the Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) list are eligible.
Eligible private schools include OSPI-approved private schools with OSPI reported enrollment of at least 100 in grades 9 through 12 (schools must have students enrolled in at least 3 of 4 high-school grade levels).
Tribal eligibility
Native American tribes whose traditional boundaries include portions of Washington State, and who have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University, are eligible to nominate students for the Regents Scholars Program.
