Cougar Commitment

Cougar Commitment

This program is our commitment to making WSU accessible to students from low to middle income families.

Cougar Commitment awards pay full tuition and required fees, and are renewable for up to four years.

You can qualify if you:

  • are from a low or middle income family in Washington and are receiving the State Need Grant or Pell Grant;
  • apply to WSU for admission by January 31 and enroll as a full-time freshman or transfer student;
  • and complete the FAFSA no later than February 15.

    As a general example, if you're from a family of four with an income of $46,500 or less, you could attend Washington State University tuition-free.

    Please note that this program is only available for the academic year (i.e. fall and spring semesters).  To learn more, visit the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships page.
