Admissions Awards

About the award

Every student who attends the Future Cougars Embracing Diversity event will receive a one-time $1,000 visitation award for completion of the program.

To be eligible for registration, students need to meet these criteria:

  1. Apply for and be offered admission to WSU Pullman for fall semester.
  2. Be a Washington resident.

Please note that registration is on a first-come, first-served basis!

In order to qualify for the visitation award through the Future Cougars Embracing Diversity program, students must attend the entire event and participate in all components of the program. National Merit Scholarship awardees, Distinguished Regents Scholars, students receiving an athletic scholarship, or students receiving a scholarship valued at full tuition are not eligible to receive the award.

How the award is posted

Student Financial Services will post the award to the student’s account within a month after the event and will send an email communication confirming the award has been posted. If you do not see that your award has posted after three weeks please contact Visitation Programs to confirm they have record of your attendance and they will follow up with Student Financial Services to ensure your award is posted.

If you can’t attend

If you can’t attend the entire event, you won’t be eligible for the Future Cougars Embracing Diversity scholarship — but that’s not the end of the story.

Filling out the WSU general scholarship application means you’ll automatically be considered for hundreds of other scholarships from WSU. Complete the application by January 31 and your FAFSA by February to be considered for hundreds of different scholarships.

If you can no longer attend Future Cougars Embracing Diversity, you are welcome to attend an Experience WSU event, a campus visit program that also offers a $1,000 award. Please note that the Experience WSU events do reach capacity quickly, so make sure to register early. You may not attend more than one event with the visitation award component.

There are also many other opportunities to visit campus throughout the year. See our student visits site for more information.
