Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
CAN I BRING OTHER PEOPLE WITH ME?
Absolutely. You’re welcome to bring parents, guardians, or siblings. When you register, please indicate how many guests you’ll be bringing so we can ensure that tour groups are a friendly size.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Dress is casual (as in whatever you’d normally wear to school). The WSU campus is hilly, so wear good walking shoes.
Dress for the weather. Be prepared for heat in the summer and cold and snow in the winter. In spring and fall, be prepared for anything; spring and fall weather can change quickly (it’s been known to swing from warm/sunny to cold/rainy/snowy and back again in a matter of hours), so we recommend dressing in layers and bringing an umbrella, just in case.
WHAT WILL I SEE ON THE CAMPUS TOUR?
On weekdays, the 90-minute walking tour will guide you through the center of campus with stops in the Center for Undergraduate Education (aka the CUE), the CUB (our student union building), Holland Library, and one of the student dining centers. In addition, you’ll pass by a number of academic buildings and several residence halls (which ones, and how many, may depend on the interests of the tour group).
For the security and privacy of our current students, individual residence hall rooms aren’t included in our regular campus tours. Virtual dorm tours, including videos and photos, are available at housing.wsu.edu.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CHANGE MY VISIT DATE?
If you need to change your appointment or cancel your visit, you can edit your tour registration online or call the Welcome Center at 509-335-4980.
