Life at WSU
Small town feel, big college experience!
At WSU, you’ll forge lifelong friendships, build bridges between cultures, and serve your community through life-changing research.
Cougs thrive on coffee, Cougar Gold cheese, Ferdinand’s ice cream, free movies at the Compton Union Building (CUB), and the uniqueness of two college towns connected by an 8-mile bike path between Pullman and Moscow, Idaho. Pullman’s small-town charm and our close-knit campus community feels like home as soon as you step foot on campus.
And every Cougar game day is a town-wide celebration where spirited students, alumni, and community members come together to cheer on the Cougs!

Every Coug experience is unique
Cougs come from all over the United States and the world, bringing with them their unique perspectives and experiences. We welcome them all! Our ten student centers and 300+ student clubs make it easy to settle into your new home at WSU.

Eat, sleep, and live better – on campus
Imagine being surrounded by other Cougs, all filled with the same excitement to meet new people, cheering on our athletic teams, and building a new home away from home. This is life living in a residence hall – an unparalleled experience that forms friendships that last a lifetime. And studies show that students who live on campus have higher GPAs than students who don’t, which is why we require all first-years students to live on campus.
