INFORM YOUR STUDENTS ABOUT IMPORTANT PRIORITY DATES AND DEADLINES

To help your students prepare for their WSU adventure, there are several tasks they need to complete by January 31—please help us spread the word!

Inform your transfer students about the January 31 priority application date for WSU summer/fall 2019 admission. Applications received after this date will be considered for admission on a space available basis. Encourage your students to apply today by submitting their completed transfer application for admission and requesting their transcripts from all colleges they have attended –or– their high school transcripts and SAT/ACT test scores if they have less than one year of college credit.

Don’t let your students end their scholarship search with the WSU scholarship application—scholarships can come from anywhere! We recommend students fill out additional scholarship applications each year to increase their chances of receiving a scholarship. IT’S FAFSA AND DEADLINE TIME—HELP STUDENTS KEEP THEIR FOCUS!

There are four important deadlines to keep on your students’ radar with the start of the New Year. Meeting these deadlines for the 2019-2020 academic year will benefit your students the most based on their financial aid eligibility. Help your students financially plan for next year by working hard to meet these WSU Student Financial Services (SFS) deadlines.

DEADLINE 1:  January 31

2019 ADMISSION APPLICATION IS NOW LIVE

The WSU application for admission for fall 2019 is now available. Encourage your students to apply today!

In order for a student’s application to be complete, they will need to 1) submit an on-line application, 2) request official transcripts from all colleges attended, 3) submit additional information requested by WSU. WSU does not require an admission essay, but will request information from students on an as-needed basis. The application fee remains $50 and as always, students with financial need may request a fee waiver. The fee waiver request is located at the end of our online admission application form on the payment page.

Some of the most important individuals in the college admission process are the regional admission counselors at WSU. By living in your communities, admission counselors are more accessible, and are more aware of local issues that may affect your school’s populations. To find which WSU representative serves your college, please visit the Find Your Counselor website.

WSU admission counselors are available to attend college fairs, admissions presentations, and personal visits to colleges.

Transfer Credit Equivalency: The Transfer Clearinghouse provides information, resources, and support to students with transfer credit to ensure a smooth transition and a successful pathway to a completed WSU degree. The site consists of previously evaluated transfer coursework and may not be inclusive of all transferable work. This is an opportunity for students to enjoy a day of university life! Students explore programs, meet faculty, and tour facilities at WSU. There is an academic fair to get information about student organizations, helpful resources, and academic programs that match student interests. Transfer students will attend a transfer workshop, enjoy a private lunch with prospective transfer and current WSU students, along with a guided residence hall tour on campus or explore off-campus living options on their own.
