First Year

You’re considered a first-year student if you’re applying to WSU for the academic year immediately after graduating from high school (even if you’re in Running Start) or you haven’t attended college since high school graduation.

International Student

You’re considered an international student if you are not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and you require a visa to study in the U.S.

Non-Degree Student

You’re considered a non-degree student if you want to take a few courses for personal enlightenment or a certificate and don’t intent to join a degree program.

Transfer Student

You’re considered a transfer student if you attended a college or university after your high school graduation, but not including the summer immediately following your graduation.

Returning Student

You’re considered a returning student if you previously attended at least one full semester at any WSU campus as an undergraduate degree-seeking student and have been away from WSU for two or more semesters.

Post degree

You’re considered a post-degree student if you have already completed a degree from another university.
