Overview
The certificate of global competencies is an elective certificate for Honors students whose interests and career objectives can be enhanced by an integrated program of language study, academic coursework, and study abroad.
To earn this certificate, you must be admitted to the WSU Honors College.

The certificate of global competencies builds on the courses required for the Honors College. Students who enter with good foreign language preparation usually will not require extra time to complete this certificate.
The certificate entails requirements in three areas:
- Foreign language competence: Fourth semester competence is required
- Education abroad: One term abroad (or longer) in an approved program
- Course work: The Honors core curriculum and Honors thesis on a global topic
Once you're admitted to the Honors College, talk to your advisor about coordinating your study abroad experience, language study, and other course work.
