Overview
The nutrition and exercise physiology degree focuses on the effects of nutrition and exercise on human health. The interdisciplinary program combines study in exercise science, human nutrition, biological sciences, and social and psychological sciences with hands-on clinical experience.
The program is co-located in Pullman and Spokane. The first two years, focusing on general education and science prerequisites, are taught in Pullman. The junior- and senior-year courses are taught in Spokane, where the University's close relationship with major medical centers provides unique opportunities for clinical experience.
After completing the degree, students are eligible to take a variety of American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) certifications.

Graduates with a bachelor of science (B.S.) in nutrition and exercise physiology are qualified to apply for professional or research-focused master’s degree programs at WSU:

Before enrolling in the nutrition and exercise physiology degree program at WSU Spokane, students must complete specific freshman/sophomore course requirements. WSU Pullman, Spokane Falls Community College, and Spokane Community College have programs and advising that coordinate with the nutrition and exercise physiology enrollment requirements.
Advisors at the Health Professions Student Center help nutrition and exercise physiology majors during the first two years of the program in Pullman. Early advising is highly recommended to shorten time to graduation.
