Leading the way in teaching
At WSU, you'll learn from professors who care about your education and your professional development. They want to see you succeed after you graduate, not just while you're in class.
In addition to five majors that are built around teacher preparation, the teacher education program teams up with academic programs across the University to offer secondary-level teacher certification (teaching endorsement from the state of Washington) in 20 subjects.
A statewide network of support
WSU is the state's only research university to offer a full teacher preparation program — which means you get to learn directly from professors whose research and innovations are redefining educational technology and practice.
And the College of Education maintains student teaching agreements with every school district in the state of Washington, so you have access to classrooms that reflect a broad range of educational environments in the subject you want to teach.
A caring community
The WSU education community can help you get the information you need to decide if WSU is the place for you — and we'll support you the whole time you're here.
The Future Teachers and Leaders of Color program provides multicultural students with unique opportunities for scholarships, faculty mentoring, and professional development. Several student clubs and organizations welcome and support teacher preparation students.
