Parents discussing college life with their student can make the transition to higher education a little easier. Roles for parents and students can change during this transition. WSU research is tracking ways to support parent–student relationships during what can be a student’s first foray into adulthood. As part of a study aimed at increasing resources for healthy parent-child relationships by exploring positive ways for parents to support their college-age students, WSU researchers surveyed members of the past two incoming classes, learning how the handbook and other resources are helping parents and students.
