Washington State University has recently developed a financial education initiative called Cougar Money Matters. This system-wide initiative provides a number of tools and resources for students to become better informed and better stewards of their financial futures. Cougar Money Matters includes a new financial education portal called iGrad, which will allow students and alumni to interactively assess their financial skill and strategies, build a budget and track expenses, monitor their student loans and find out about repayment options, and learn concepts—such as credit, investing, identity protection, and many more—to improve their financial outlook. It also provides students with financial and living resources across the WSU system. Cougar Money Matters offers Money Matters Mondays where staff post helpful financial information to social media, and you and your student can search this using #moneymattersmonday. Cougar Money Matters is a joint initiative between the Student Financial Services Office and the Office of Academic Engagement, with support from BECU.
