To help your students prepare for their WSU adventure, there are several tasks they need to complete by January 31—please help us spread the word!

  1. Inform your transfer students about the January 31 priority application date for WSU summer/fall 2018 admission. Applications received after this date will be considered for admission on a space available basis.
Encourage your students to apply today by submitting their completed transfer application for admission and requesting their transcripts from all colleges they have attended –or– their high school transcripts and SAT/ACT test scores if they have less than one year of college credit.
  2. January 31 is also the deadline for the WSU General Scholarship Application. This single application offers students the opportunity to apply for over 700 different scholarships at WSU. This application requires thoughtful responses, so advise your students to start now!
  3. While the 2018–2019 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) can be completed any time throughout the year for aid consideration, WSU’s priority submission date is January 31. Meeting this priority date increases students’ likelihood of being awarded “free” aid money, such as grants. The FAFSA can be completed online for free at fafsa.gov.
  4. The 2018–2019 WASFA (Washington Application for State Financial Aid) is available for HB-1079 and qualifying DACA students only. Your students must complete this application by the January 31 to have the potential to receive free grant funds from the state of Washington to help pay for college. Please encourage “Dreamer” students to complete the WASFA by the deadline. It is a great opportunity for low-income, non-U.S. citizens who are unable to file the FAFSA to be considered for state financial aid.
