The Office of Admissions is pleased to welcome Sam Harris, a proud WSU Alum, to our amazing team of admission counselors. As a student, Sam worked for the Office of Admissions as a Cougar Connector, for New Student Programs as an Orientation Counselor, and as an Assistant Coordinator in the Compton Union Building (WSU student center). During his time at WSU, Sam discovered his strengths as a people person, and his love for sharing all that WSU has done for him. Ultimately, Sam wants to share the WSU spirit with everyone he meets, so that they too can feel the passion and sense of community he has felt in the variety of adventures he has been involved with at WSU.
After graduating from WSU in December 2016, Sam switched roles from Cougar Connector to Admission Counselor. Sam is based in Pullman, WA, but makes frequent trips to his home state of California to assist students and families with the transition from high school to college. Growing up in Long Beach, Sam enjoys speaking with students who have the same concerns he did when he was considering attending college out of state. Happily, Sam is here to help and support students.
Sam encourages you and your students to ask any questions about WSU and life as a recent college student. He can be contacted via email at: firstname.lastname@example.org and via phone at: 562-413-3296.
All WSU Admission Counselors are available to attend college fairs, scholarship nights, personal statement/essay workshops, admission presentations, personal visits to high schools, and more. To find which WSU representative serves your school, please visit the “Find Your Rep” website.
