The Honors College provides an enriching academic curriculum and a community focused on helping motivated students create a transformative college experience. The Honors College curriculum encourages experiential and interdisciplinary learning to develop global understanding and promote critical thinking, innovation, and effective communication. Honors College students enjoy small, discussion-based classes, are involved in leadership, service, cutting-edge research, and have renowned faculty as mentors. The Honors College offers their students additional scholarships, internships, jobs, and other opportunities. Students in the Honors College enjoy the benefits of a small college experience combined with the resources of a top-tier research university, at no additional cost. The Honors College has a separate application. Incoming freshmen are encouraged to apply online as soon as possible, since the Honors College uses a rolling admission process. Transfer students and current WSU students may contact the Honors College to make an admissions appointment. For incoming freshman who joined the Honors College last fall, the middle 50% range for unweighted high school GPA was 3.75-3.98 and for old SAT (Math and Verbal combined) was 1190-1340 out of 1600.
