Encourage your high achieving and motivated students to apply to the WSU Honors College. The Honors College offers a fascinating curriculum and a supportive community. The Honors College curriculum satisfies general education requirements, serving as an engaging alternative to the University Common Requirements (UCORE), so it is compatible with all academic areas. There is no extra cost for applying to or being a student in the Honors College.
The Honors College curriculum is based on experiential learning with a global focus. Honors classes explore the importance of globalization, diversity, critical thinking, effective communication, leadership, and innovation. Honors College students enjoy small, interactive classes, are involved in cutting-edge research, and have renowned faculty as mentors. The Honors College offers their students opportunities for additional scholarships, internships, jobs, research, and leadership opportunities. Additionally, the Honors College has partnerships with the College of Nursing, College of Veterinary Medicine (for pre-vet students), the Carson College of Business, and the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture.
Transfer students who wish to apply may schedule an appointment with an Honors advisor. Generally, a 3.5 cumulative college GPA is required. All 200-level Honors courses are waived for students with an Associate’s degree, and other coursework can be evaluated.
