It is never too early to apply for scholarships. With academic breaks coming up shortly, November and December are a great time to search for scholarship opportunities.

WSU’s General Scholarship Application is now open and available for all students (even if students haven’t been admitted yet). Over 700 different scholarship programs are awarded through this application. Students must submit this application annually to be considered for university awards. The 2017-2018 WSU General Scholarship Application due on January 31st.

The WSU Alumni Association also has scholarships available with varying requirements and applications. Their 2017-2018 scholarship information can be found here.

Fortunately, many outside scholarship programs make the search even easier for students! College Board and Sallie Mae have both created fantastic scholarship search tools for students, parents, and high school counselors. Students can create an account and then enter information to help narrow down the search. Student Financial Services also has a list of useful websites and search information available regarding outside scholarship resources, including a list of private scholarship donors. Please remember that students should never have to pay for a scholarship or scholarship search services.
