WSU’s Common Reading Program has recently announced the new book for first-year students entering WSU in the fall of 2016. All first-year students will be reading the best seller “I Am Malala: The Story of the Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban,” written by Malala Yousafzai. A remarkable tale of a family uprooted by global terrorism and of the fight for girls’ education. Throughout a students’ first year, the Common Reading Program will host several events relating to issues raised in the book.
