Michelle Henley has been named Washington State University’s new Director of Recruitment. Michelle has 19 years of experience in Higher Education, at institutions spanning Nevada, California, Idaho, and Washington. Her experience includes grant writing and administration, teaching, community outreach, admissions, and recruitment. After moving from Northern California to the Pacific Northwest in 2006, Michelle served as Campus Visit Coordinator and later Associate Director of Recruitment at Washington State University. In 2011, Michelle expanded her experience in her role as Director of Recruitment at the University of Idaho for the past 4 years. She is thrilled to return to Washington State University, a place she calls, “home”.
Michelle says she is extremely fortunate to work alongside a talented, seasoned, and committed team of admissions professionals who understand first-hand the value of the WSU Cougar experience. She is excited to be representing one of the nation’s leading land-grant universities, committed to excellence in research, discovery, teaching, and engagement. In her first few weeks back at WSU, she says she is most impressed by the stellar personal qualities as well as the diverse accomplishments of our students in the areas of academics, research, service, and creativity.
Michelle’s ultimate goal in her work is to help prospective students discover their potential and passion through exploring the possibilities along the path of the college experience. She looks forward to the collaboration and partnership with high school counselors, teachers, parents, and other partners in education to work towards serving the needs of students in the college decision making process.
