Greetings from the WSU Honors College!

An Honors College education prepares graduates for the 21st century interconnected world: a world that begins here in the state of Washington. Honors College students are involved in cutting-edge research; are campus, community, and statewide leaders; are world travelers; and are academic role models.

The thought-provoking Honors curriculum and experiential learning opportunities attract students from around the country. Honors classes explore the importance of globalization, diversity, critical thinking, effective communication, leadership, and innovation. World class faculty mentor Honors College students in research projects ranging from new approaches for diagnosing and treating cancer to the impact of the G.I. Bill.

Over 40% of Honors College students are involved in research and study-abroad programs including our academic exchanges in the United Kingdom and China. There are many scholarships available to help support Honors College students that want to take part in international programs.

We welcome all first-year and transfer students to apply to the Honors College. The Honors College application requires a short essay: you can view the essay prompts online at The Honors College uses a rolling admissions process with priority given to students who commit to WSU by May 1, 2015.
