Important Dates and Deadlines

APPLY for admission and scholarships


September

  • Future Cougar Day in Pullman. Cheer on the Cougars at a football game, browse an academic fair, and meet faculty and current students.

October

  • Fall Preview. A full-day event to tour campus, meet faculty, and admissions and financial aid counselors.

November

  • Students may receive notification of admission as early as Novemaber 1, depending upon their academic qualifications. For most students, notifications will continue through spring.
  • Spring semester priority application date: November 15. All materials must be completed online or postmarked by this date.

January

  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using Washington State University's Federal School Code 003800 for processing.
By January 31:
  • Priority application date for fall semester admission
  • Deadline to apply for scholarships
  • Deadline to be considered for the Honors College
  • Deadline to be eligible for Future Cougars of Color program.

Confirm Plans to attend


February

  • Apply for housing in the residence halls or campus apartments
  • Priority application date for Federal financial aid (FAFSA) is February 15

March

  • Destination WSU for admitted students provides an in-depth, personal introduction to academic programs and resources. Interested students should register as soon as they are accepted because space is limited.

April


May

  • Tuition deposits for fall semester due May 1. Students should confirm plans to attend the University by making their $200 tuition deposit

Attend orientation and register for classes


June

  • Alive!, the University's mandatory orientation program, acquaints new student with campus and is the earliest opportunity to register for classes*
  • Fraternity and sorority recruitment information available. Call 509-335-RUSH (7874) for details.

July


August


  • Students who did not attend Transfer Day or a summer Alive! orientation session must attend fall Alive! to register for classes and get familiar with the campus. (website)
  • Week of Welcome activities take place the week before fall semester classes begin. wsu.edu
