ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps)

  • Build a solid academic foundation.

  • Get hands-on field experience and rigorous physical training.

ROTC programs at WSU

ROTC programs can work together with any of the University's 200+ majors and minors.

Meet these requirements to join WSU ROTC:

  • U.S. citizen or legal U.S. resident

  • Between 17 and 30 years old

  • 2.5 or better high school or transfer GPA

  • Meet medical qualification standards

  • No civil convictions without approved waiver

Scholarships

Army ROTC

As an ROTC Scholarship recipient you receive:

  • Full tuition or room/board (depending on degree sought)

  • $1200 a year for books

  • Monthly stipend, depending on level in the Army ROTC curriculum: 1st year: $300; 2nd year: $350; 3rd year: $450; 4th year: $500

  • All mandatory lab fees paid

Air Force ROTC

Navy ROTC

Students participating in NROTC can receive scholarships covering tuition and fees, money for books, and a $250 per month stipend that will increase $50/year up to $400 per month for your senior year.

Washington National Guard Scholarship

Members of the Washington National Guard may be eligible for a tuition waiver for as much as $500 per year. Contact the WSU Department of Military Science at 509-335-2591 for more information.
