Business ideas that improve lives
If you have a knack for cool ideas, Jerman Rose can help you make them a reality. Professor Rose helps develop international programs and relationships for the WSU College of Business, helping his students make a difference in the world.
He is clinical professor and director of the International Business Institute in the College of Business and has 40 years of global experience in management, teaching, research, and consulting.Travel the globe
Professor Rose has worked and traveled extensively in Russia, Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe and taken student groups to China, Switzerland, Egypt, Morocco, Turkey, Korea, Thailand, and Ukraine.
Professor Rose is always busy exploring new entrepreneurship opportunities for students.
For instance:
- Four of Rose’s students took their business plan for a low-cost, scalable treadle pump to farmers in the central African country of Malawi. In a country where starvation and extreme poverty are ever-present threats, the portable, low-maintenance treadle pump invented at WSU has the potential to increase crop yields and provide food and income for families.
- Three WSU students went with Professor Rose to Rwanda to help extend Internet access to rural African villages and aid local entrepreneurs in their efforts to set up a telecenter and market their locally grown coffee.
Ultimately, Professor Rose helps WSU students make a lasting difference in people’s lives.
Who wouldn't want their business ideas to do something like that?
