Glenn Johnson

Broadcast Journalism

A mighty voice for the Cougars

Professor Glenn Johnson is the powerful voice of Cougar Athletics, and once you become a Coug and attend a few football and basketball games, you’ll come to know that voice well.

But that's not all Johnson does at WSU. He also brings insider knowledge from his tour of duty as a Sacramento news anchor to his broadcast journalism classes.

Raising the bar in broadcast journalism

WSU’s communication students know Professor Johnson  as someone who puts their interests first, whether in the classroom or in the TV studio.

His combination of professionalism and caring is a hallmark of the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication and one of the factors that led the Radio Television News Directors Association to rank the University fourth in the nation for its preparation of students seeking careers in television news.

In addition, Professor Johnson is the first educator inducted into the "Silver Circle" of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
